Messrs Thomas Paterson and Co.. fruit and produce agents, Manse street, report June 9 :—: — Fruit.— Market weaker, bub prices for choice fruit are well attained. Oranges : Tahiti, 6s to Bs. Lemons : Italian, 30s. Tomatoes : Hot-house-growu, 41 to 4£d. Grapes (short supply). Is to Is 6d. Apples : Dessert, 2Jd to 3d ; cooking, 2d to 2£d. Puars: Local, 2£d to id; imported. 14s to 16s. Bananas : Best Queensland, 2ri \o 2Jd. Peanuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, dates, figs, <fee., in stock. Produce.— Eggs, scarce. Fresh butter, 7d to 9d ; prime salt, 6£d to 9d (wanted). Bacon : Roll, 5Jd to Gd. Hams, 7d to Bd. Oheese : Old factory, 3d to 4u ; prime, 4id to 4£d. Pigs, 3Jd (wanted) Poultry, in fair demand ; we receive any dv.v for sale. Onions : Locally-grown, £8 to £9. Honey, 4d. Potatoes : Derwents— Nor hern £3 53 to £3 10s : southern £2 15s to £3 ; seed kidneys (wanted), £i to £5. We receive consignments of grain, fruit, farm and dairy produce of all descriptions. Highest prices realised. Can supply all kinds of Chinese rireworks for Record Reign celebrations.
