LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held on Wednesday, was attended by the chief comrnisBioner (Mv J. P. Maitland), Messrs 11. Clark, W. Dallas, J. Duncan. Manioxoto. — Ranger Atkinson repotted upon the application by \Y. Dowle for license to occupy part of village reserve in block XI, Maniototo. — License to be granted under section 116 of the act over a portion of the reserve through which the eludge channel runs, bounded by roads, at a rental of Sd per acre. Highlay. — A memo, was read from the undersecretaiy for lands in regard to the application by G. Donaldson "for a reduction of rent upon small grazing run, sections 10, 11, and 12, block IX, Highlay district, on account of a special claim under the Mining Aci; having been granted thereon. — The board decided that it had no power to grant tbe reduction asked for. Maruwenua. — The board decided to allow the application of Robert Holmes to surrender his lease over section 30, block V, Maruwenua district, to be withdrawn. A letter was received from S. 11. Baxter in regard to the reserve held under license by the Maruwenua Commonage Committee — It waa decided 'that if application for occupation lease was made, board would consider the questiou. Gimmerbur^.— The board v/as requested to authorise the receiver of laud revenue to pay over the sum of £15, being amount paid as valuation for improvements upon small grazing Run 225, Qimuierburn. — Application granted. Pomahaka. -The board decided to defer consideration of George Herriott's application to have a road laid off to the south-eastern corner of section 49, block XI, Pomahaka Downs estate, to give better access to land held by the applicant. Lapsed Leases.— Default having been made in the payment of rent, the board declared lapsed the licenses held by J. M'Henry, D. M'Donald and others, E. Moubon, Michael Fennessy, Mary Fenneßsy, John Fennessy, W. S. Todd, and 11. Ll'Skimming. Naseby.— Messrs Inder and Cutten applied on behalf of Timothy Hanrahan to be allowed to acquire section 25, block I, Maniotolo, and section
