MILITARY TOURNAMENT.

London, June 1. Afc the military tournament the Irish Lancers defeated the New South Wales Lancers in wrestling on horseback. The Times remarks that the Australians would have stood a better chance of winning if they had understood the latitude allowed by the rules for the contest. June 2. At the military tournament General Sir Redvers Bailer congratulated Captain Thompson on the physique of the New South Walee Mounted Rifles. Corporal Apps, of the New South Wales Mounted Rifles, gave an exhibition of rough riding in the presence of the Duke of Connaught. His Royal Highness congratulated Corporal Campbell on his smart leadership during the display. June 3. Practising at Bisley for the firsu stage of the Queen's Prize the Victoria Rifle team averaged 92. The remainder of the teams and the New South Wales Lancers have arrived and are quartered °at Chelsea barracks. At the military tournament a combined cavalry and artillery team defeated the New Soath Wales Mounted Kifies in wrestling on horseback. The contest wa3 an exciting one. June 4. At the military tournament the New South Wales Mounted Rifles defeated the New South Wales Lancers in wrestling on horseback. London, June 6. At tho military tournament, in the tentpegging competition a silver cup was won by Ssrgeant Williams, and a silver medal by Trooper Robinson, of the New South Walea Lancets. June 7. Sir G. Turner and Mr Seddon visited the military tournament.
