THE ASSOCIATION GAMES. Queen's Park v. Rangers.

The Queen's Park First met the Rangers First on the latter's ground, when a wellcontested game took plaoa. At the commencement the Rangers put the Queen's Park on the defensive until Bradley, gaining possession of the leather, with the assistance of Heynes carried the play into the Ringers' territory. After some good defensive play by the Rangers the ball was brought again into mid-field. A lot of give-and-take play followed until the Queen's Park brought the ball into the Rangers' territory, and after a tuesle in front of the goal Bradley registered a goal for the Queen's Park. The Rangers replied with some good play, in which Sligo and Peters were prominent. The latter took the ball well down the field and placed a, neat goal. In the second spell both teoms played with better combination. Although the game at times was fast neither side was enabled to score, and the game resulted in a draw, each Fcoring a goal. For the Queen's Park HiddlesloDe, in goal, played a safe game. The Spraggon brothers and Dob3on put: in some hard work, as did Hayneg and Bradley in the forwards. For some time after the kick-off the gurus was very even, the ball being rushed up and down from one goal to the other, until the Northern, who were playing down hill, were awarded a corner-kick. The ball was headed out to Bolton, who was not slow to avail himself of the chance, and with a splendid shot scored the Northern's first goal. From this out the Northern had slightly the better of the spell, the Mornington's rushes being well stopped by the backs. The Northern's forwards threw away some good chances by bad shooting and hard kicking. Before the call of time the Northern's second goal was scored by Morrison, who centred from the left, the ball bouncing through at an angle. From the kickoff the Mornington attacked the Northern's goal, which was soon cleared, and the Northern took a turn at the attack, but were also driven back. The forwards were too

I eager to shoot, by which they threw away many chances. Mr G. Cameron, who kindly gave up his game with the Queen's Park to act as referee, gave no cause for complaint, and his decisions were well taken by both aides. The game resulted :—: — Northern ... 5 goals Movnington ... 1 goal Green Island v Roslyn. The Roslyn Club journeyed to Burmside, and there met and defeated the local team by 4 goals', to nil. Good combined play by the Roslyn left wing gave Arlidge Ja chance, ' which he quickly book advantage of. The Green Island now warmed up and gave the visitors a rough time of it, but the defence was good, and the ball was soon taken to the other end of the field, when Gillespie scored with a beauty. Shortly after, from a good passing run, P. M'Millan scored tho third goal. Ib was expected that in the sacond spell the Roslyu, playing down hill, would add considerably to their score, and, although they had most of the play, they only managed to score once. Jay set the ball in motion, and the visiting forwards at once pub the home team on the defensive, but Scotb, wifch a good kick, shifted play to the centre. From the throw in the Green Island forwnrd« travelled up the field at a great rate with the ball at their toe, and the R-jslyn in their efforts to save had to concede a corner, which, howover, proved resultleis. The home team continued to peg away. hu>; Calder cams to the rescue with a powerful kick. From this on till call of time the Roslyn had decidedly the besb of ib, the forwards playing with splendid combination. Shortly before the call of time P.
