FARM AND STATION.

DEFENDING COLONIAL PRODUCE.

(Continued from page 7.)

London, April 14.

The Hon. W. P. Rseves, Ageat-geaeral for New Zealand, in a letter to The Times denies the statement that New Zealand cheese is adulterated, and ridicules the assertions made in the House of Commons that consumers of frozen meat are liable to cancer and other diseases. He suggests the appointment of a Royal commission to inquire into the qualities of imported meats, and define the countries from which they can be exported.

Melboubne. April 14.

At a meeting of the Agricultural Society a strong protest was made against Mr Digby's assertion in the House of Commons that Australian frozen meat was inferior in quality as a means of sustenance, and the secretary was instructed to write to The Times contradicting the assertion.
