WEEKLY MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin, Dunedin, report (wholesale) as follows for week ending April 21. All quotations subject to market fluctuations :—

We would ask farmers when sending samples always to put a pi ice on them, as buyers do not feel inclined to make offers.

Wheat. — Market fairly brisk for prime samples. We quote : Bes* velvet— Oamaru 4<i 2d, south 4s ; best 'I uscan— Oamaru 4s, south 3s lid to 4s; red chaff, 3s lid to 4s; fowls' wheat, 3a to 3s 6d. Oats : Not many offering ; uearly all for storage ; prices rising fast. We have sold a few line* of prime Sutherlands at 2s 3d to 2s 4d, and can place more at same price. Bright short feed, 2s to 2s 2d. and have an order to execute for 20,000 sacks. We have placed several thousand sacks during the week. Barley : Feed sorts are quoted 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; malting, from 3s 6d to 4s. Ryecorn (in good demand, and we can place a large quantity at quotations ; Bend in samples), 3a to 3s 3d. Flour : We quote dEll. Oatmeal in 25's, £12. Pearl barley, £14 Bran, £3. Pollard, £i. Nelson hops are quoted at lOJd to Is. Chaff : good bid, m 2s 6d: new at £2 17s 6d to £3 Ryegrasß : There is now a good deal of the new season's crop offering. The only demand, however, is for small shotty seeo, other descriptions being at present only saleable at very low prices, which owners are not inclined to accept in the meantime. During the week we have placed a large quantity at from 2s to 3s Id per bushel (sacks i-xtra) ; for farmers' dressed, 2s to 2s ; lOd : machined, 3s 3d to 4s — a good inquiry for small seed. Cocksfoot, 3d to 4Jd for farmers' lots, and 4Jd to s§d for machined. Pressed straw, 27= tid. Oiov^r hay, £2 12s 6d to £2 15s Nitrate of soda, £15 Kainit, £5. Basic slag, £5 Glovers, rape, <fee, just landing. We can offer all classes ; of .s- eds pure and fresh. Potatoes.- Kidneys (very little demand, unlesi ! Buit<ble for seed), £3 to £4. Itubbitskins. — We offered a good-catalogue on Monday, aud cleared the lot at late rates. We quote : Prime winters, lOd to 12d ; springs, 6d to 8d ; summers, 3'l to 5Jd per lb. .Sheepskins. — We quote : Butchei-3 1 green crossbreds, Is G i to 2s 6\J ; dry crossbreds, 2s 5d to 5s 6d ; dry merinos, 2s 3d to 3s 6d ; medium do, Is 6d to 2s.

Hides, lid to 3Jd, according to weight and condition.

Tallow : Rough fat, 9j 6d to 11s ; rendered, 12s to 15-

Oornsacks. — We have just landed a large shipment of 46in and 48ia sacks, and shall be pleased to quote on application We are now storing oats at Bluff, Gore, and Inveicargill, and would ask farmere, if not intended for Dunedin, to consign to us as follows :—Moritzson and Hopkin, Bluff ; or, Henderso> «ml Batger.
