LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Land Board, held oa Wednesday, was attended by the chief commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland), Messra H Clark, W. Dallas, J. Duncan, and A. M'Kerrow.

Gimmerburn —An application by Messrs Inder and Cutte. , on behalf of Mr G. J. Patersou, for biikll grazing Run 225 x, Ginimerburn district, was declined, area having been recommended to be opened as small grazing run. Mr A. L. 4erdman, on behalf of Mr Robert Little, rfiqueste ' the board to reconsider his application for section 20. block I, Gimmerburn. It was agreed to rescind the resolution recommending the section for notification and to allow Robert Little to a quite on lease in perpetuity at capital value of 15s 6d per acre.

Naseby.— A report was received from district surveyor Calderupon Mr John Christopher's application for loave to acquire sections 56 and 57, blcsk I, Naseby district.— To be allowed to acquire on lpase in perpetuity section 56 at a capital valua of 15s 6d ncr acre, and section 57 at 12s 6d. Moeraki. — An application by Mr John Braidford for a license to occupy sections 1 and 2, block VII, town of Moeraki.— Declined. KangerHughan to report as to dealing with the land. Greenvale.— An application by Mr IT. J. O. Kempthorne to purchase section 12, block XIV, Greenvale district, held under deferred payment license —Purchase approved.

Maerewiienua Estate.— Miss J. Mitchell requested permission to take down the stone building at present upon allotment 42, Maerewhenua estate, with the view of using the material in 'tha building of a dwelling house.— Referred to ranger for a report.

Tuapeka West. — An application for a reduction in the capital value of sections 28, 30, 31, and 33, block IV, Tuapeka West district, »held byMr Andrew Dalziel, under the occupation with right of purchase -ystem, was declined, the board having no power to reduce the capital value. Teviot.— Hanger Atkinson reported upon the application by Mr Arthur Smith to surrender small graziner Pain 199f, Teviot district.— The Governor to be recommended to authorise the commissioner of Crown lands to accept surrender, the present rental being in the opinion of the^, board too high to allow of profitable occupation. Kawarau and Lower Wanaka — Ranger Mackenzi forwarded a report upon sections 1, 3, (J, and 12 to 16, block VII, Kawarau district, and section* 1, 10. 12, and 14, block V, Lower Wanaka district —Sections in Kawarau district to ba recommended for notification at a capital valut of 7s per acre. Lower Wanaka district to ba recommended for notification at a capital valuo of 7s, except section 14 at a capital value of 53 per acre.

Tarras.— Rang3r Mackenzie also forwarded t, report on the unsold sections in block XIII, Tat ras district.— Consideration deferred.

Islands in Lake Wanak a.— Ranger Mao* kenzie's report upon Manuka and Crescent Islands, Lake Wanaka, was received.

MoMONA Estate — Mr William Thomson requested that he be allowed to the end of May to remove his straw from the Momona estate.— Permission was granted, Mr Thomson to bt allowed till the end of May to remove straw referred to. notice to be given to applicant
