WAIKAKA VALLEY.

April 20 — The weather has be n fine during the last four or five days. Easterly winds were expat ienced occasionally, and frosty mornings. Oats aie being carted to the siding fioru many farms, but the traffic is not nearly so heavy as it has been in past years. 'I he price received during the past week for best sparrowbill oats on the trucks ha= beeu Is 10} d per bushel, vet cash, but althougn the price is admitted to be good evetyone is not disposed to sell. The turnip crop is a good one, and winter feed will be abundant Soiree. —A soiree was held in the church last Thursday evening. The Rev. G. Miller occupied the chair, and the other speakers were the Revs. Asher, Begs, Wallace, ana Ramsay. The choii, conducted by Mr W. Johnston rendered several selections during the eveniug, the accompaniments being played by Miss JL Cummiug. The passing of the usual voles of thanks brought a pleasant meeting to a close.
