February 1. — The 6eason here has been a 3ry one, although we have had occasional showers. Grass has been plentiful, whils the crops are looking exceedingly well Mr R. Muir has a capital crop of oat» and wheat, while Mr James Wright has some excellent crops and starts threshing today. Mr James Steadman has a paddock of oats nver 6ft iv kngth, and no person could desire better, while Mr Samuel Thompion has equally as good. These farmers sow very «arly. It does anyone good to have a look round this locality. Mr R. M'Kegg has, I notice, a splendid crop of potatoes, School Committee —The school committee met on Saturday evening, when there were present Messrs John Wright (in thecluir), S. Thompson, J. Gilmore, and James Wright. A number of circulars from candidates for election to the Education Board were received. It is evid ent there will be plenty of candidates to choose from.
