THE OPAWA HOMICIDE.
A CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. Chbistchtjrch, January 27. At the Police Court this morning Horatio John Parkes was charged, on remand, with the murder of Michael Ryan at Opawa. The magistrate (who was coroner at the inquest last week, where a verdict of non-culpable homicide was returned) said it had been decided to now charge accused with manslaughter. The evidence was practically the same as that adduced at the inquest, and the accused was committed for trial.
