LAND BOARD.

Tbe weekly meeting of the Laud Board, held on Wm Inesday, was attended by the Chief Commissioner (Mr J. P. Maitland), Messrs H. Clark, W. Dallas, J. Duncan, and A. M'Kerrow. Tigeb Hill. — An application by Edward Lee for a license to ocoupy section 32, block I, Tiger Hill, Grave Reserve, was deeliued. — R^uger Atkinson having reported upon sections 10 trad 11, block. I, Tiger Hill, it was resolved that a yearly license be offered to Thomas Clinston under section 116 ot the act at a rental of 6d per acre. — An application by Robert Diamond to purchase five nores fn block I, Tiger Hill district, was deolincd. Waitahuna Bast. — Applications by R. J. Niohol and J Ryan for a license to occupy sectioD 10, block V, Waitahuna Eait, were considered, and it was resolved that a yearly licence be granted to J. Ryan under section 116 of the act at a rental of 2s 6d per aore, with licensa fee £1 Is. Rock and Piixar. — Willißm Hambly asked the board to reconsider his application for a license to occupy part of the mining reserve, section 51, block 1, Rock and Pillar.— The board adhered to their former deoitiou. Papakaio —Ranger Hughan kaviog forwarded a. report upon seotions 2 of 32, 2 of 33, 34, and 35, block VI, Papakaio, it was resolved that the present occupant be required to take cut a year's license under section 116 of the act from Jauuary 1 ul<;., at a rental of 2s per acre, with license fee of £1 Is. Ranger Atkinson forwarded a report on an application by James Dawson for an iccupation lease over four aores of the mining reserve, section 27, block VI, Rankleburn. — The application wan declined. Moeuaki. — Lee and Co. applied for a license to occupy a small portion of the foreshore, town of Moeraki, adjoining the area r-.cently licensed to A. Carmiohael. — It was , resolved that a yearly license to occupy 20ft by I 15fc be granted under saction 116 of the act at a rental of s*, with license fee £1 Is. It was also resolved that a yearly license be granted to the Waipori Commonage Committee over 1570 acres of the commonage in Tuapeka East and Waipori district; and also sections 2 and 11, part of 12. all of 13, parts of 14 and 15, block V, Waipori, at a rental of £3 10s, with license fee £1 Is ; the lincense to be conditional upon interest at the rate of 10 pur cent, per annum being paid from September 1, 1896, on half the cost of the fenoe erected by Mr Cofcton, valued at £94, an mutually agreed upon. St. Bathans. — W. Smith applied for an occupation lease of 30 acres of part of block 11, St. Bathans district. — A yearly license was granted at a rental of 9d per acre over the area applied for, subject to survey and necessary roads and to any reduction of area to cover claim and tail race applied for by Bright and • Reilly if a certificate is issued by the warden.
