ending 82nd May :— No: 1 tunnel, north drive. — Distance driven for week, 3ft ;— total, 34ft. Ore in" this face imS roving. No. 3 tunnel, south' drive. —Distance riven for week, lft j— total, 682 ft. No change to report. No, 4 tunnel, south drive. — Distance driven for weak, 3ft ;— to.tal, 497 ft. The face ii now very hard. No. 4 tunnel (south drive), No. 8 cro3Bcut.— Distance driven for week; lft ;- total, 88ft. Ore shows a very good improvement. No. 4 tunnel (south drive). No. 2 rise.— Rise put up for the week, 3ft:— total, 26ft. Continues iv good copper ore. No. 4 tunnel (south drive), No. 4 crosscut.— Distance driven for week, lft;— total, 20ft. Ore shows a very good improvement. No. 4 tunnel (south drive), No. 3 rise. — Rise has been put up 3ft during the week (—total. 30ft. Surface Work.— Benches : Platelaying on selfacting inoline completed, and ballasting nearly so. Ballasting tramline from No. 2J bench to hauling line" completed. The excavation of over-burden on No. 1 bench has been carried on during the week. A large amount of stripping has been done on this bench, exposing a nice face of good ore. Tha bin for reception of ore from No. 4 tunnel is completod and in use. Framework of new asray office '8 being erected, and brickwork in stack aud furnaces nearly completed. Progress Report. — Ooko and furnace paraphernalia arriving, and entire smelting plant generally receiving finishing touches. Weather dry and fine. Railway Engineer's Report.— Weather during the past week has bees unusually fine, enabling us to complete the foundation of the Queen river bridges without any trouble ; also expect to give Gaffney and Harvey tbeir final certificate next week, and our own earthworks will practically be finished as well.
