DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Duoedin Jockey Club was held last Thursday ; present— Hoa. G. M'Lean (president), Messrs Miller, Stephenßon, Meenan, Hazletfc, Short, Cook, Gourley, and Maclean. TOTALISATOB XICENSH REFUSED. A telegram was read from the Acting-Colonial Secretary stating that he does not ccc his way to grant the Southland Trotting Club a totalisator license. A letter was also read from the Southlaad Trotting Cub thanking the D.J.C. for their efforts in trying ti obtain ft license. FINES FOB MALPRACTICE. The Taieri Amateur Turf Club reported that J. Allan had been fined £7, R. Allan £4, and G. Hendrick £4 for malpractice in the One* mile and a-half Trot at their last meeting, and that the fines had been paid. It- was resolved — "That the Taiori Club's attention be called to rule 185 a, section 4, whereby these fines should ba forwarded to the Metropolitan Club to be placed to the credit of the distressed jockeys' fund." TRANSFERS. The following transfers were passed : — From G. G. Stead to T. Connop, b c, by St. Clair— Lady Gertrude ; G. G. Stead to H. A Ku'ght, b f Argon, by Medallion — Auray ; G. G. Stead to M. Fried lander, cv ,0 Gr&ud Ccoss, by Medallion — Auray. TOTALISATOR BETTING. It was resolved that the following be disqualified for "tots" betting at the May meeting : — Nettlefold, A. Anderaon, and C. "White. THE NEW COUBSE. The various aitei under offer were discussed, and four were selected out of which selection should be made, should no other suitable turn up in the meantime. Itwas also resolved that the names of Messrs Hizlett and Stepheneon be added to the Selection Committee, and that a special meeting be called, if necessary, to consider the report of the committee.
