The weekly meeting of the Land Board was held on Wednesday, and attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (chief commissioner), Clark, Duncan, and M'Kerrow. Maniototo.— District-surveyor Calder reported upon Mr L. Matheson's application for a grassing right over Taieri Lake bed fronting section 10, block XII, Maniototo.— Application declined. Hawea Hundred.— Mr Munco Allison, on'behalf of the licensees of tho Hawea Hundred, applied to be allowed to surrender the license over the same. — Declined. - Swinburn.— Mr William Ellison applied for 100 acres of Crown land fronting section 12, block VII, Swinburn.— Application declined, the license granted to Swinburn Farm Homestead Association not expiring till July 1896. Woodland. — Ranger Fraser reported upon valuation of iraprovfiments upon sections 11 and 12, block V, Woodland distiict, surrendered by David Miller.— Sections recommended for notification. To be offered grouped at a capitaTvalue of 22s 0d per acre, with valuation for improvements Cromwell.— Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a report upon the application from Mr George Mountnay for a lease in perpetuity over 150 acres of unsurveyed land adjoining section 51, block 111, Cromwell district, under section 115 of the act. — Applicant to be allowed to acquiie area applied for at a capital value of 12s 6d per acre. Ranger Mackenzie forwarded an application by F. M'Felin for an occupation lease over 30 acres situated around his residence in_block 111, Cromwell district.— Granted at 6d per acre. Blackstone.— Ranger Fraaer forwarded an amended valuation of small grazing Run 225 c, Blackstone district. —Amended valuation of £31 9j fid approved. Rock and Pillar.— Mr Thomas Howell applied t j have licenses over sections 14 and 39, block I, Rock and Pillar district, issued in the name of his wife, Mary 0. Howell. — Granted. Tuapeka East.— David Finlayson, on behalf of Michael Whelan, whose perpetual lease over sections 7, 8, 9. and 10, block XIII, Tuapeka East, was declared forfeited, applied to re-lease sections 8 and 9.— Declined. Maerkwhenua.— Ranger Hughan forwarded report upon the application by Robert Hohnes to have the unoccupied village homestead sections in block V, Maerewhonua district, grouped and opened as ordinary Crown lands. — Declined at present. Ckookston. —Thomas Chalmer, on behalf of a client, requested that the license over sections 32 to 37, block VIII, Crookston, be not renewed at end of the current term, but that the land be offered at auction under section 116 of the act, together with the Camping reserve, section 11.— Referred to ranger for a report. Shotover. — Ranger Mackenzie forwarded report upon section 11, block XVI, Shotover district, recently held under agricultural lease by B. P. Boult. — Recommended for notification at capital value of 7s 6J per acre. Arrears. — The resolution declaring forfeited the leases and licenses of the following holder: was rescinded, the arrears in each case -bavins been paid :— W. M'Keuzie, A. Kennedy, T. M.
