Notes from Lyell. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Lyell 11, November 22.

Lyell Creek.— The mine manager reports :— "There is no change of any note to leport in the mine I have sunk down aud opened the second stope below the level, a distance of 9ft. _ The reef maintains its usual s-ize, and the quality of the btone is the same as list repoited. Tho battery started crushing on Tuesday last with one sbift, but will stirt with two shifts from to-day. Mr Butkr, the engineer, will complete hia survey of the mine in a few days." Cockspanow Drelge.— The manager reports:— " I have at last made a stait dredging. 1 tr«ced the gold to within about 100 ft of our lower pe^a, and am starting to opeu out a face on the north side of the island Ido not expect to get much gold for a few days, until we have the face opened out. So as to get a gooJ face on tho wash, I have to open out on drifty stuff in which there is very little gold."
