Rounding the top turn Ben Varrey appeared to ba winning easily, bub sweeping iuto the straight Waingongoro and Allan-a-dale put iv a decided challenge, and the filly dying away in the straight Waingongoio had the beat of the struggle with Allan- a-dale, and won by threequarters of a length ; Kent a fair third. / Time, lmin 48sec. When the tapes were released The Shrew tamed round, and lout quite a dozen lengths. Revolution and Senator raced together in the lead. Along the back of the course Senator gave way to The Miser, who vraa on Revolution's quarters, Zanella third, and Senator and B-ooklet next, while The Shrew wm gradually catching her field. Revolution cried a go as they came rouad the tarn, and The Miser took up the running, with Brooklet lying handy, and the favourite coming fast on tho outside. After turning into the straight Derretb made his eff&rt, and although he caught Brooklet he could not got on terms with The Miser, who won all out by about a bare length ; Revolution fourth, Kinglake last. Nearing the read Senator quickly foil away to the rear. Tbe Miser w»s licet into the straight, but Dorrttt brought up the fivourite with a great run, and won by half a length, Leda a n*ck behind The Miser. Time, 2min 19sec. Dividend, £2 53.
