Big River. — The mine manager reports : "Stoping is being contiuued above No 3 5 and 3 levels. la No. 5 stope there is no change in size or length of reef 'lhere is no improvement in quality of stone from the last report. There is no change iv the Hopes above No 3, the stone being about the same size as last reported, but the quality is not so goo;l. On the block going east that I reported la-st week we have driven 22ft, at which point it cut out. I have started to stope on it. The stone is of fair quality. Since starting to rise on the stone in No. 4 level 9ft has been risen. The gtoue in the bark of tho rl?e is. sft wide and of quod quality. There is a Rtiong body of stone in the north end of the rise, with water drippin? from it. Next week I will put three shifts on to rise on this stone." Progress —The mine manager reports : lhere is nothing new to report from the stopes excepting that the btone is becoming clearer. '1 wo hundred and forty-eight tons of quartz were tent tottibattery for the week. The winze below No. 5 level has been sunk a further depth of 9ft, making the total depth 121 ft. After sinking another foot Green and party will have fin'shed their contract. Tho mpin Mi -ft; has been sunk a further depth Of 7ift."
