Septemubh 16.— Arbor day was celebrate! here on the Cth. The weather being fine tended to make the day a most enjoyable one. About 2 p.m. the school committee and teacher, with the parents and children, gathered at the Ida Valley Cemetery, whore the trees were to be planted. The trees were of mauy varieties, including yew, birch, beech, Norway ppruce, laich, nihcrocarpa, &c. Wbeu the planting begun everyone aeeined t-o have an interest in the work, especially the ludies and childien ; they being all anxious to pWnt their tree?. After the trees, which numbered 100, were all planted, au adjournment was made to a grass paddock, where all the good thiegs in the shape of eatable* provided by the ladiet, were served round by them.
