INVERCARGILL STOCK SALES. The J. G. Ward Farmers' Association of New Zealand (Limited) report having beld their regular fortnightly etock bale at the Tnvercargill yard OD the 14lh. The entry all round was a fair one,

although in sheep much smaller than the two provif us sales, and for sheep, if young and in forward conditi >n, the demand was much better than it has been of late, and a general rise in values of from Cd to Is each for suitable turnip sorts. The fat sheep market is still very fully supplied with agod ewes of good quality, which at present prevents any rise in this line. Fat Cattle. — Ml forward changed hands, although the quality did not warrant any high prices being paid. We quote fair beef at 20s and inferior 15s to 17s 6*l. Best bullocks ranged from £$ 10d to £8, small and inferior £1 10j to £5. One line of 20 we sold at £5 10s. Fat Slwep.— Best wethers, 7s 6 1 to 8s 9d ; small and medium, Gh to 7s ; ewe, 5.^ to 7s each. Store Sheep — !'est wttiieiM and maiden ewes, 7s Hd (at which price we .'•old ISO to 6s6<l); medium and sin ill, 5s to Us ; lamb*, which were mostly inferior, 3b to 5s each ; and owes, which for the nwst part had the s^u.e complaint, 3s Gd to 4s GJ. Store Cattle.— A good entry forward, and nearly all changed hands at up to £5 for good steers ; medium and small, £',) 10s to £i\ hcifeis, £2 t« £'& ; and yearlings, 20* to 27s ; calves, 10s to 15s.

GRAIN AND PR'JDUCIC MARKETS Messrs Donald Rkid and Co. report that priceß ruled as under at their auction sale yesterday :— Oats.— Best Su'herlands, Is 3d to Is 4d; prime milling, Is 3d to Is 3Jd ; good to best feeJ, Is 2d to Is 2JJ ; inferior and medium, Is Id to Is l|d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat. —None offered. Supply short, and market iiun at late quotations. Potatoes.— Dull. -Best Derwents, 32* fid to 35s ; medium, 27s 6d to 30a per ton (sicks in). Chaff.— Best oaten sheaf, £1 s?s to £2 7s 6d; medium, £2 to £Z 2s 6d per ton (bags extra). Turnips — In bng3, 15s 6d per ton ; loose in trucks, 13i GJ per ton.
