Notes from Lyell.
I YELL, M»y 10. The manager of the Lyell Cretk Company reports :—" The contractors have extended the main tunnel a distance of Bft, making the total dixtance driven by them 110 ft. The driving was very hard until last night, when it changed to a kind-looking country with a little water in the face of the drive. I expect them to get the reuf any moiueut. I have the paddock pirtly up, and expect to complete it by the end of next week."
