The 3 to 1 money is exhausted about Dreamland for the Derby, and 5 to 2 is now the best offer. Cobbitty is well backed at 6 to 1, and Bonnie Scotlaad at 7 to 1, whilst 1000 to 140 Harvester was taken on one hand and the backer was willing to ga on. Other wagers were t 1000 to 120 Forward, 400 to 50 Malachite. Cup betting : 500 to 75 Ruenalf, 500 to 40 Carnage, 4000 to 140 Ronda, 1000 to 40 each Devon, Patron, and Tim Swiveller, 1000 to 30 Chesterman.

At Caulfield Mr Gollan's pair, The Possible and Bonnie Scotland, were associated in a strong two-mile gallop, th» laat mile being run in Imin 55i«5, the latter pulling up very fresh. Beasif, Macnrthy, Norton, and Kiinberley were given a strong serviceable gallop. Forward was sent the Derby distance, finishing in fair time and well. October 26. After 100 to 400 had been laid against Dream* land for the Derby, 2 to 1 was the best offer. Six hundred to 100 wa* offered Cobbitty; 500 to 80 Harvester, 6£o to 100 Bonnie Scotland, 200 to 25 Malachite, 300 to 36 Forward, were tbe other wagers taken. Cup betting : 3000 to 120. Ronda, 2000 to 80 Newman, 2000 to 40 (taken) each, Swordbearar and Principle. Dreamland and Xarcoola met with moderate support at 100 to 4, writ Capstan 100 to 3. Betting is dull,, and both Dreamland and Ruenalf are weakening for the Derby and Cup respectively. Ronda is likely to tee a shorter price for the Cup, thcugh still at 100 to 4. Donation has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup. October 27. Steady rain all night made the tracks very heavy this morning. Loyalty did an excellent mile and a-half in Zmin 48^8eo, beating Nightingale. Solanum covered a similar distance on the oouree proper in 2min 47£seo. Port Admiral did two miles in 3min 43^sec ; Chesterman a mile and a-quarter in 2min 20£ se c; and Patron, Tarooola, and Ruenalf a mile and a-half in 2mm 47«e0. Newman beat Isaac in 2min 45seo. The former is in great buckle, bat Patron appears to be goirjg off. Cobbitty and Destiny had. a strong Derby gallop. Heva is an unlikely starter for the Moonee Valley Cup, and Malachite for the Melboonw Cup, for whioh Glenhantly and Tullamore have been loratohed. Destiny meets with moderate support for the Derby at 10 to 1, and for the. Cup Carnage has advanced to 100 to 10; 1500 to 75 was taken about Loyalty, aud 2000 to 100 about Devon. October 28. At Caulfleld yesterday, Forward, with a light weight up, traversed the Derby distance in 2mm 45sec, finishing in good style.
