Sweetmeat (3 to 1 on) led up from Midge, who was beaten pointless. Ledgerkeeper (6 to 4 agst) led up by several lengths and scored every time, Stormy Petrel doing but little work. Verdi (2 to 1 on) had a slight advantage in the lead up, but both dogs ran up a good ecore before the course ended. In the course between Black Hawk and Cast-off,! the former led up, but the fawn dog (2 to 1 agst) quickly got in and did a lot of work, giving Black Hawk the go-bye in front of the escapes. Victor proved himself very fast in his course with Colleen Bawn, He led up and turned and did a lot of work afterwards, although the bitch also ran up a big score. Kingston was beaten pointless on a r short course with Bangle. Snowdonia led up from Zulu and won with little to spare. Pine Beauty did very little work in her course with Norma. The Ostrich led up from A' ac 'oo' and won easily. Rangi Pai led up and did nearly all the work.
