D.J.C. COMMITTEE.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Jockey Club, held last Thursday, was attended by Messrs J. Stephenson (in the chair), H. Gourley, J. Fleming, R. Wilson, J. A. Cook, W. H. Taggart, F. Meenan, J Hazletfc, L. Maclean, and P. Miller. DISQUALIFIED BETTING MEN. Letters from several disqualified persons, consideration of which was deferred from previous meetings, together with report showing how far the sentences had been complied with on the D.J.C. and other courses, were considered, and it was resolved that the following disqualifications be removed, and that the persons be notified that if they were again disqualified their names would be permanently kept on the list :— J. H. Brown, Alexander Smith, John Mason. James Bal]antyne, H. Willmore, W. Noel, John Moore, Henry Smith, Harry Mooney, Samuel Brown, George Newman, Thomas Barnett, W. Hayes, and T. Hayes. The application of Joseph Dixon wus declined on account of his having appeared frequently on the racecourse for the purpose of watching training during the time his disqualification was in force. RETRENCHMENT. The report of the special committee dealing with the reduction of the number of employees at the difft rent meetings and tbe reduction of salaries of the handicapper and the secretary was received and adopted. THE RACING CONFERENCE. The Hon. George M'Lean was appointed the club's delegate at the Racing Conference to be held in Wellington next month. The notices of alteration of rules given by other clubs for consideration at the conference were discussed and remitted to the delegate. It was decided that the D.J.C. give notice that the following be added to the rules of racing :—": — " (1) All disputes referred to the club willbe adjudged according to the published rules where any of them are specially applicable to the case submitted to them, and, where not, according to the established rules of racing." (2) " The racing laws of the Jockey Club at Newmarket as existing at present and all alterations made from time to time shall be adopted by the club as far as practicable." NATIONAL COURSING CLUB. A letter was recc-ived from the National Coursing Club asking the D.J.C. if they would include a Challenge SfcakPK in next season's programme. — Referred to the Plumpton Committee with power to act. HUNT CLUB MEETING. The dato of tho Hunt Olu\> races was fixed for Saturday, September 8 and the Programme Committee wfro instructed to prepare and issue a programme.
