RABBITSKINS.

Messrs Alfred W. M'Donald and Co., wool and rabbitskin merchants, Bond and Crawford streets, report for the week ending July 4 as follows :—

Our market for these skins is now in so sensitive a condition that it is a most difficult matter to foretell what alteration may happen as far as prices are concerned. The future of this staple depends entirely upon the result of the sales to be held in London on Friday, the 6fch inst. The prices paid for the very best skins here have not exceeded 12Jd per lb. This price we have no doubt appears low compared with our returns to you of other years, but, as we have already stated, at the moment there is nothing to warrant higher prices being paid. We have very large orders on hand. In order to facilitate business with you we are paying your freight on all consignments exceeding 4cwt. Terms as usual — net cash, and prompt. We are supplying bags and woolpacks at half the usual rates.
