FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.
Messrs Tho jus Paterson and Co., fruit and produce agents, Manse street, report for the week ending July 4 : —
Fruit. — Market fairly supplied. Apples : Tasmanian crabs, 7s to 8s; stonepippins and stunners, 7s to 7s 6d ; scarlet pearmains, 7s 6d to 8s 6d. Pears very scarce. Oranges : Sydney, 4s 6d to 5s 6d Mandarins, 6s to 7s 6d. Lemons, 7s to Bd. Tahiti oranges, 6s to 7s. Pineapples, 8s 6d to 10s. Bananas, Is to 2d. Cocoanuts, 10s per sack (by a printer's error last week our price for this line was made to read 20s).
Produce.— Eggs are in shorter supply this week. Fresh butter, 8d to lOd ; prime salt, 7d to 8d ; medium 5d to 6id. Cheese, 4d to 4Jd ; factorymade, 4Jd to sid. Bacon, 6Jd to 6Jd. Pigs, 3fd to 4d. Honey, 3Ad to 4d. Beeswax, Is Id. Potatoes, 35s to £2 ,10s ; kidneys (for seed), £3 to £3 10s. Onions, £10 10s fco £11 10s. Carrots, 30s. Poultry has good demand ; roosters, 3s to 3s 6'd ; hens, 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; ducks, 3s 6d to 4d ; turkeys, hens, 5d ; cocks, 6d to 6id ; geese, 6s 6d. Agents for Paton, Calvert, and Cos. matchless metal polish, and the Australian aromatic horse and cattle food.
