Protection," Urßennet and Mr Kirkpatrick taking the Freetrade side and, Mr Richardson that of Protection. .Songs and recitations were given duriDg the evening. The ensuing meeting is to be devoted to "Pride or Drunkenness, Which is the Greater Evil?" i
Rabbits.— The season for trapping rabbits is now over, and Mr Partridge has stopped gofug to the Kelso factory. ' Political.— l see there are only two candidates in the field now — Messrs Scobie Mackenzie and Larnach. I expect we. shall have them both speaking here before the election takes place. ■ "
