THE LABOUR MARKET.
Mr Skbne reports under date June ll:—There9 :— There is really little doing— only an odd hand now and again, who cannot be done without. Economy all round is the order of the day. Never before since the colony started have there been so many firstclass men out of work. It is very humbling to have to write thus about this grand but mismanaged country. If these things last much longer there will be " wigs on the green." Our, members are preaching "Peace, peace, when there is no peace " But surely a wise remedy will be found now that Parliament has met. Wages are about the old rates.
