WEEKLY RETURNS.
The mine manager of the Island Block Extended Gold Company reports having washed up on Saturday 12oz 4dwt of jjold for the week's work, making a total of 31oz for the past fortnight. The Dunstan Times reports :— " The following are the returns from Mr Gards's dredges for two weeks ending the 13th inst. : — Steam dredge, 41oz 3dwt ; current wheel, 9oz 7dwt. Lei jon and Magnus's dredee, about half a mile above Alexandra, is reported to be getting capital returns." Mr Peter Barr, secretary United Hercules Hydraulic Sluicing Company (Limited), has received the following telegram from the manager :— " Seventeen days' sluicing 230z 6dwt 6gr, value £89 15s. Expect to finish paddock in fortnight. Returns should improve." Mr Thomas Callender repDrts 1460z I7dwt 17gr retorted gold from the Sew Hoy B'g Beach Gold Mining Company (Limited) from dredg;s; also, soz 15dwtl2?r of gold from elevator— total, 1520z 13dwt sgr for past week, ending Saturday, the 16th inst. Mr Jabez Burton reports :—": — " The Ettrick dredge washed up for the week lloz 12dwt 21gr, valued at £ki lli\ fid. The Roxburgh dredge did not wash up in old ground, and the machinery is not working very welL" The Grevniouth Argus states that the Mont dOr washing for eight weeks amounted to SOOoz. A. divideud of Is per share has been declared.
