FORBURY COURSING MEETING.

Second Day — Thursday, June 7. St. Leger. — For 21 puppies at £2 each. Winner, £22; runner-up, £10; third dog, £4; three dogs at £2;— total,2 ;— total, £42. THIRD ROUND. White Heather beat The Ostrich Hasty Girl beat Castorina Nitrate King beat Daughter of Erin. White Heather displayed great pace in his course with The Ostrich. He led up and turned, and, although running very wild, scored every time. Hasty Girl led up from Castorina, and did all the work, the latter only getting in once or twice in a capital course. Nitrate King proved too fast for Daughter of Erin. He came up with a strong lead and turned several times, eventually giving the fawn bitch the go-by. FOURTH ROUND. Nitrate King beat White Heather Hasty Girl, a bye. White Heather led up from Nitrate King (3 to 2 on), but the latter then got in and ran up a score that gained for him the course. FINAL ROUND. Mr J. Drumra, juu's., f b Flasty Girl, by Boomerang—The Jilt, beat Mr J. Crawshaw's b w d Nitrate King, by Kinsky— Bed o' Stone, and won the stake. Hasty Girl (2 to 1 agst) led up, and, turning twice, secured the hare. The latter, however, got free again, and a good give-and-take course ensued till near the escapes, when the fawn bitch again got in and ran up a handsome score. Forbury Gup.— For 16 all-aged dogs at £3 each. Winner, £30 ; runner-up, £12 ; two dogs at £3 each.

SECOND ROUND. Carnage beat Florrie Ledgerkeeper beat Waratah Pine Hut beat Sailor Jack Douglas beat My Jack. Carnage (6 to 4 on) led up and turned twice. Florrie then got in and did some good work, but Carnage had the best of the ensuing exchanges, which led up to a mutual kill. Waratah did not get in in his course with Ledgerkeeper (2 to 1 on), who led up and turned twice before the hare— which proved too clever to allow of either dog running up much of a score— reached the escapes. Pine Hut (2 to 1 on) led up from Sailor Jack, and did all the work in a long course. Douglas (3 to 1 on) led up, wrenched twice, and turned. My Jack then got in, and put up a very respectable score, but towards the close Douglas gave him tho go-by and secured the judge's decision. THIRD ROUND. Pine Hut beat Carnage Ledgarkeeper beat Douglas Pine Hut (6 to 4 on) led up by some three lengths and turned. Carnage, who was slow in getting away from the slips, then got in but killed himself out of it. Ledgarkeeper (6 to 4 on) and Douglas ran well together The favourite, who held a very slight lead, secured the turn, and killed almost immediately. FINAL ROUND. W. Harley's brd d Pine IJut, by Red Pine— Fly, beat W. Carver's b w d Ledgerkeeper, by Kinsley — Bed o' Stone, and won the stake. Pine Hut (3 to 2 on) led up and turned twice bafore Ledgerkeeper got in. Several exchanges followed, but towards the close Ledgerkeeper lagged somewhat, and Pine Hut worked the line cleverly till it reached cover. First Eight-dog Stake.— Winner, ; runnerup, £2. FIRST ROUND. Marco beat Maori Boy Nighean beat Zula Dean Swift beat The Scotchman Aparima beat Wee Lass Marco led up by half a length from Maori Boy and turned twice. Some interesting exchanges ensued, Marco winning with very little to spare. Nighean led up by about a head from Zula and killed almost immediately. Dean Swift beat The Scotchman pointless. Aparima led up from Wee Lass by about half a dozen lengths, turned two or three times, and subsequently scored a go-by. SECOND HOUND. Nighean beat Mai co Dean Swifc beat Aparima. Nighean raced away from Marco and did all the work. A long course ensued between Dean Swift and Aparima. The latter led up and turned, after which both both dogs worked the hare in and out, and the issue remained in doubt until the judge signalled in favour of the Dean. FINAL ROUND. Nighean beat Dean Swift. Nighean led up, and turned twice, Dean Swift failing to get in. Second Eight-dog Stake.— Winner, £G ; runner up, £2. FIRST ROUND. Starry Night beat Castaway Sydenham beat King Cora Midge beat Ettie May Maltstress beat King Death. A good give-and-take course between Starry Night and Castaway resulted in the former's favour. Sydenham led up from King Cora and did all the work. Midge won all the way from Ettie May. Maltstress led up by three lengths from King Death and did the best of the exchanges in a long course. SECOND ROUND. Sydenham beat Starry Night Midge beat Maltstress. Sydenham led up and did nearly all the workMidge led up from Maltstress, and afterwards worked the hare capitally, Midge seldom getting in, FINAL ROUND. Midge beat Sydenham, and won the stake. Midge led up, wrenched, and turned twice, eventually beating Sydenham pointless.
