NOTES BY MASTER M'GRATH.
Some half-dozen pups thab I saw ab Mr Mercer's the other day do credit to their ]> r{n'.-.;;n t^e.ir sire being the Red Pine dog H ».,--..•• aii d 4 .heir dam 3 Jeannie Deans and 1)1 y IJ.-I'Ji. Despised, by the way, has been kilkd by the owner, a misfortune which would
have made bhe dog's life a misery having overtaken him. Nob much need be added by way of comment in respecb to last week's meeting at bhe Forbury Plumpbon. A considerable amount of interest was taken in the course between Lederkeeper and Brilliant Boy, in consequence of the arguments that took place as to the respective merits of these dogs when Brilliant Boy beat Ledgerkeeper in the semi-final of the Challenge Stakes ; bub, whatever opinions were then formed by the onloakers, there was no. doubt as to the result of the go last week. It was a short course, certainly, but Ledgerkeeper plainly won. Brilliant Boy was scarcely as bright as at the May meeting. The slipping of Mr Henderson and the judging of Mr M'Aulay gave general satisfaction and the arrangements were well managed albogebher. Ib is a piby thab bhere was nob a larger attendance.
