August B.— Wo have had rain neatly every day - since the late wind storm ; but the fall has never been much in 'any one day, though sufficient - to keep the ploughing back a good deal. - Sickness.— Over 40 have had the measles in this district, but I am happy to say that all are now convalescent. , • Mining.— The various claims in the district are all working away steadily. The Island Block is on first-class ground at present, and-Mrß,. T. Stewart, the working manager, is doing his best to -earn a dividend if possible. -
