IDA VALLEY.

June s.—Up. —Up to time of writing we have been enjoying the mildest winter weather ever experienced in the valley— the sth of June and very little frost and no snow. The grass has grown wonderfully during the last month. A little more rain would have helped its growth, but in the absence of rain we had a number of very misty mornings, which proved a mild substitute. Threshing has been going on with the same power as has been applied during the last two years-viz., hirdy-girdy ; but r believe a steam mill is shortly to be here from Lander. Bunny.— Poisoning is about to be commenced on the station and small runs. The rabbits are not so numerous as they were last year, the rabbit agent having been very busy during the summer months, and through the issue of a few summonses and being otherwise energetic he has kept down the pest below the usual standard. Sporting.— Our Jockey Club came out of its first meeting with a credit balance of £22 105, to be carried forward to next year, which is considered very satisfactory by the stewards. The stewards af c to be congratulated on the way they managed to look after the interests of the club. At a meeting of stewards on Saturday evening Mr R,. Love tendered his resignation as secretary, and when put to the meeting it was accepted without a dissentient. On the motion of Mr Reaks, seconded by Mr P. M'Atamney, Mr Geo. Noone was appointed secretary pro tern.
