ADAMS' FLAT.
August 18. — Arbor Day was held at Adams' Flat on Monday, the 15th inst. The day was fine, and shortly after 1 o'clock tree-planting was begun in real earnest. Tho members of the committee were all present. Each of the school children planted a tree, and some assisted in planting a number. They appeared to enjoy the work immensely. During the afternoon a number of parents and friends assembled, and when the work of the day was done they all partook of refreshments which some of the ladies had provided. The remainder of the evening was spent very pleasantly, young and old engaging in a number of games, which were kept up until the setting sun gave warning of approaching night. The children then sang a Good-night" song very nicely, and were dismissed by the teacher. Our Arbor Day will be remembered with pleasure by us all, and we hope next year to have another such.
