RAE'S JUNCTION.

August 1. — The services conducted here by the Rev. R. Telford and Mr Andrews, of Roxburgh, are very well attended. We had a visit from each during the month just past. " Agricultural —The frost has commenced in earnest now. What with heavy rain and the hard frost the ploughing is very far back indeed. In fact very little has been done so far. The rabbits have not taken poison in this distiict thisseason so well as in others. Possibly this is due to the fact of their number having been so much reduced during the trapping sea? on. Mining.— The Island Block Company have now two elevators at work. This is due to their having laid a second line of pipes. Settling Down.— Mr E. Jones, of Blue Spur, who was for sometime working at the Islanrt .block, has just been married, and has bought the store of Messrs Itidd Bros., of Miller's Flat. He takes possession of the store to-day.
