THE ROXBURGH AMALGAMATED MINING AND SLUICING COMPANY (LIMITED).
The manager reports for the week ending 30th July 1892 as follows :— " Both elevators have been working steadily all the week except a few short stoppages for repairs. On Saturday morning the water went off suddenly, the caretaker of the race finding a portion of the slip had slipped into the creek, turned the water off, and shortly afterwards a large rock from the hill above the Hume came down and carried away about 50ft of the boxes, smashing them to pieces. It will take me, weather permitting, until about Wednesday to get it repaired. Had this not occurred, No. 2 paddock would have been finished on Saturday and the boxes cleaned down on Monday, but as it is now it will be about the end of next week before I wash down, as I have a lot of pumping to do when I get the water through. The weather here at present looks like freezing everything up."
