WEDNESDAY, JULY 13. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
In the Legislative Council to-day a motion was carried to appoint a select committee to inquire whether it is possible to assist the volunteer movement by concessions without affecting the revenue. The Unclaimed Lands Bill, and the New Zealand Company's Land Claimants Bill were read a second time. The Libel Bill was considered in committee, and all the clauses passed, leaving only the schedules to be considered.
