THE BISHOPS' CAMPAIGN.
Three bishops went sailing away to the North— Away to the North as the auu went down ; Bach thought to himself as he went forth, He was fittest to'wear the Primate's crown ; For whether they're high, or low, or tall, Bishops are human after all ; And the lookers-on are laughing. They stepped on the steamer with lordly mien— They looked on the ocean calm aud still ; But the wind got up, and their lordships were seen Feeding the fishes, all dreadfully ill ; For whether they're high, or low, or tall. Bishops are human after all ; And the lookers-on were laughing. But.'Wellington Harbour was reached at last, And to the Synod they made their way, But Into the gutter their hats were cast— For the Wellington wind blows every day j And whether they'ie high, or low, or tall, Bishops are human after all ; And the lookers-on were laughing. IV. They met, and made speeches they'd learnt off by rote— They preached and they prosed, and then they eat down ; But they settled 1g all by a commonplace vote, Whioh gave back to Hadfield the Primate's crown ; For whether they're high, or low, or tall, Bishops ara human after nil ; And the lookers-on were laughing. v. Then after these prelates had each had their say. And found that their protests all ended in smoke, They sought relaxation and went to the play. And the public all thought it an excellent joke ; That whether they're high, or low, or tall, Bishops are human after all ; And the lookers-on were laughing. MOBAIj. Wow if you would find a moral To this bishop's pretty quarrel, Search the Scriptures, you will find Something: tbat will ease your raind : "To him that hath it shall be given ; " So from your hearts let strife be driven. — OIOiRETTB.
