April 21.— We have had a splendid growing •eason, and all crops and grass are In abundance. The rabbits are also numerous, and the fur harvest will be a good one. It appears that Master Bunny and Jack Ferret get on well together ; for, although there are a Jot of ferrets about, I never saw more rabbits, so I conclude that the ferrets there do not destroy the rabbits or even keep them down to any appreciable extent. If the ferrets have done no good in the reduction of the rabbits they certainly have done a lot of harm, for they have destroyed the Maori hens, which were very good rabbiters.
