M ' James Arkle, was united in the DOnds of wedlock to Mr J. G. Flndlay, solicitor, the Eev. M. Frew officiating. The happy bride and her aister«, who acted as bridesmaids, looked charming, tut I cannot pretend to give any description of the ■dresses. The party after the wedding ceremony ■were driven to the residence of the bride's parents to partake of. the wedding breakfast. Amongst thore present to do honour to the happy couple Were &ir Bobert and Lady Stout and other visitors from Dun«dio» Oamaru, and the surrounding district. I was favoured with a glance of the wedding presents, ■whloh were both numerous and costly* most of them "being of the newest and latest designs. The newly married couple afterwards started for the South to spend their honeymoon, amidst the congratulations of their friends, accompanied with the usual showers of rice, &c.

Oonckrt awd Dramatic Performance.— This affair in aid of the funds of the Palmerston Football Club, was held in the Town Hall last evening, and was a great success, the building being crowded to the doors. Our local vocalists were assisted by Miss J. Matheson, of Dunedin, who delighted the audience with her singing and prcved a great acquisition to our local talent. The concert part of the entertainment was very creditable to all those taking part therein, and kas highly successful. The performance concluded with the farce entitled " Turn Him Out," the performers— both ladies and gentlemen—acquitting themselves (if applause is any criterion) to the entire satisfaction of the audience, and when eaoh and all did bo well it would be invidious to mention anyone in particular. The entertainment concluded with a dance. I understand the funds of the club will benefit to the satisfactory extent of some £20 as the result of the entertainment.
