HORSE REPORT.

Weight, Stbphenson, and Co. report as follows :—: — For Saturday's sale about 40 horses came forward, of which about 25 changed hands at quotations. We note a strong demand fnr extra heavy young draught mares and geldings, subject to trials inj^hafts. Good sorts answering this^ description are eagerly bought up at improved values, A few pairs of exceptionally good young buggy horses— must be bays, with blaok points, 15 to 16 hands 3in in height, must have good action, and be fast— would also command good pricei. aad. for one or two pairs of well-trained bay or brown

carriage hcrseß (with black points) we could get a high figure. We also have enquiries for a few firstclass hunters — must be up to carrying 15 or 16 stone, and must be clever jumpers, something out of. the common. For all these descriptions of horse flesh as well as for good Indian remounts we can find buyers j at prices which we are certain will satisfy those | who have the right class of animal for sale. Medium draughts and the common classes of light horses are only aaleable at comparatively low prices. We > quote first-class heavy draughts at from £20 to £30 ; medium, £10 to £15 ; light, £5 to £10 ; first-class well-matched carriage pairs, £60 to £70 ; first-class buggy pairs, £40 to £50 ; first-class hunters. £25 to £35; ordinary light harness horses, £6 to £12 ; aged and inferior, £1 10s to £3. i
