CURLING AT MOUNT IDA.

MANUHERIKIA CLUB (ST. BATHANS),
Wednesday, July 18. A return match between B wing's and the station rinks was played at Hawkkdun, beginning at 9 a.m. M'Pherson, Brown, .M'Connochie, .Ewing (skip), 15. Clarke, Burnett, Cochrane, Matheson (skip), 21. Afterward Pyle's rink played Hawkdun, but the game had to be left unfinished as follows :— Turner, Coutts. Hanrahan, Pyle (skip), 13. Clarke, Burnett, Cochrane, Matheson (skip), 14. Messrs M'Counoohie and {M'Pherson having challenged Ewing and Brown to a friendly game, the challenge was accepted, with the following result :— Brown, Swing (skip), 15. M'Pherson, M'Connochie (skip), 6. Thursday. Wilkinson's rink met Pyle's for the rink medal : — Hill, M'Lean, Hanger, Wilkiuson (skip), 21. Turner, Coutts, Hanrahau. Pyle (skip), 18. Friday. The following cup pairs were played :—: — S Turner, 15 ; John Cochrane, 9. John Ewing,ls ; W Pyle, 9. A M'Lein, 15 ; James Cochrane, 9. A M'Pherson, 15 : P O'Regan, 9. R Renwick, 15 ; A Hill, 11. Pyle's rink in the afternoon met Ewing's in a friendly game, at the end of which, when darkness stopped play, Pyle's rink had scored 12 and Ewing's 17.
Saturday. Bwing's rink met Wilkinson's to play off second pairs for the medal with same players as given above, with the result that Wilkinson's rink scored four to Swing's 21. The ice was very bad for some of Wilkinson's players. The final match for possession of the medal has now to be played between Bwing's and the Hawkdun rinks (Burnett's), the latter having in the second draw obtained a bye. Mr James Wilson, brewer, Dunedin, haß presented the Manuherikia Curling Club with a case of ale for competition this season.
