The Land Board met on Wednesday. There were present: Messrs Maitland (chief commissioner), Logan, Clark, and Dallas. . Akatore.— F. Wayne oubebalfof W.Otrc, applied for a perpetual lease of the south portion of section 30, block 11, Akatore, estimated to contain about 100 acres.— Keferred to Ranger Hughan for report. Laudek.— W. Rolands, Ophir, applied for the right to graze stock over section 49. block 111, Lauder, in order to prevent the area becoming a rabbit warren. — ' Referred to the chief commissioner. Kubow.— W. D. Smith, on behalf of A. H. Chapman, purchaser of small grazing Hun No. 2of 23, Kutqw, applied to have the valuation thereon, ameuded, much of the fencing charged for not being on the ground.— Referred to Ranger Hughan. Resignation.— The Under Secretary for Crown Lands wrote stating that Mr John M'Kenzie. M.H.R, had. tendered his resignation as a. member of the board and that it had been accepted.— Noted. Sutton.— W. L. Simpson, on behalf of Mr Callan. applied to have the land adjoining sections 50, 46, and 48, block IV, Sutton, knownasßlair Taieri village site, opened under the Land Amendment Act 1887. — Consideration adjourned for a week. R. B. Martin, on behalf ot Michael Moynahan, asked that the upset price of sections 7 to 23, block XV", Sutton. bo reduced from £5 to £3 per acre.— Sections to be offered at reduced price of £3 per acre. Wendon.— Scobie Mackenzie, on behalf of Mr John [ Wright, asked that small farm deferred-payment special village settlement sections at Hindon be re* duced in capital value from £2 to £1 per acre. — Government to be recommended to offer the land a 8 small farm allotments at £1 per acre as village settlements. i Manioxoto.— The secretary of the Naseby Pastoral Investment Company wrote stating that the reserve for which the company desired to have a ranger was situated on block X, Maniototo. If there was a Crown ranger in the vicinity the company was willing to bear the expense attached to any impounding of stock by him" At present the reserve was over-crowded with stock.— Referred to the chief commissioner. Leaning Hook .—An application by W. S. Graham to purchase on agricultural lease section 3, block XIV, Leaning Rocs district, was referred to the Government for approval. Rural Land.— The following applications for rural land on deferred payments were granted: — Charles Turner, section 2. block V, Kurow ; William Linwood, section 5, block X, Shotover ; George Mill, seotion 5, block IX, Tarras. > Tapanui.— The following applications for village settlement small farm allotments on deferred payments were granted : —Michael J. Duffy, section I ]/, block XXVII, Tapanut ; Michael Duffy, section 4, block XXVII, Sapauul. Capitalisation.— The following application to capitalise was approved of :— J. E. Wade, section 5, block IV, Kurow. Tuapeka. Kasi.— An application to complete purchase was made by W. Colquhoun (section 80, block V, Tuapeka East), and approved. Poolburn.— The following application to transfer a perpetual lease section was granted : — Jessie Nevill (now Poison) to Jane Nevill, sections 18 and 19, block 111, Poolburn. ; Highlay.— The application of W. D. Smith, for A. Fraser, lessee of section 7, block VII, Highlay, for the grassing right over section 6, on condition of his keeping down the rabbits, was referred to the chief commissioner to arrange accordingly.— An application by Alexander M'Lennau for a grazing right over the same was declined. Tapanui.— The board was asked to deal with the license of Run 140b, occupied by J. C. Cameron, the rent of which, due in March last, was abill unpaid. — Notice to be inserted in the Gazette that the run license is liable to forfeiture. Dunedikt and East Taikri.— An application by Archibald Baxter to raise lignite from a portion of the beach reserve opposite sections 16, 17, and 51, block VI, in the above district, was referred to Ranger Hughan for report, Dunback.— An application by W. D. Smith, for Alex. Simpson, to purchase or lease section la, block VI, Ounback, was referred to the district land officer for report. Unsold Runs.— The following runs having been offered but not sold.it was resolved to reduce the valuation as follows :— No. 14, Karnslaw, 18,800 acres, from £59 to £30 ; No. 19, same district, 33,500 acres, from £35 to £20 ; No. 346, same district, 14,.'i00, f rom £45 to £20 ; No. 34t0, same district, 16,000 acres, from £50 to £25 ; Nq. 217b., Waihemo. 17,170 acres, from £200 to £150; No. 419, Kinloch. 10,900 acres,' from £20 to £10. Small Grazing Runs.— lt was resolved, that the following small grazing runs offered at aucfcipn on May 10, but not «qld, be again advertised as open for application:— Seotipn 6, block XlV.Benger ; sec tion 7, 10, 11, block Xlll.Benger; sections 1 and 3, block VI, Catlins t seotion 6, block VII. Highlay ; section 1, block 11. Kuriwao ; sections 9 to 11, block IX, Kuriwao ; seotions4 and 5, block IX, .Kqriwao ; sections, 13, 14, 15, land 17, block IX, Kqriwao ; section 8 of 23, Kurow. Grbknvalb.— John Ford was declared lessee of perpetual lease section 7, block XI, Greenvale, 239 acres, at the upset of £1 per acre.
