Messrs Fleming and Hedley offered by anctioa on Saturday two farms in the Kakanui district.. 'I he first was Mr Bromley's farm, compvihinp 301 acres. The bidding was started at £10, and stopped at £13 3s 6fl, at which figure thtproperty was knocked down to' Mr G. Rutherford. Mr Rutherford has been for some time resident in Dunediu, and, we believe, came from Victoria with the iutt'ntion of investing in NVw Zealand property. He has been very successful in his choice, for he has secured one of the nicest farms in the district. The farm known as Riverbank was then offered. The bidding started at £8, but after reaching £10 17s 6d, wa6 withdrawn from sale. — North Ofcago Times.
