Rider of whining horse to be presented with a whip ; rider of second horse a pair of spurs. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Nominations for the Alexandra Handicap, District Handicap, and Handicap Trotting Race must be received by the Secretary before 8 p.m. on TUESDAY, September 7. Weights, etc., will be published in the Dunstan Times on Friday, September 10. Acceptances for all Handicaps and Entries for the Maiden Plate must be received by the Secretary before 8 p.m. on THURSDAY, September 30. Three horses to accept in each Handicap, or no race. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of stakes for expenses. No Qualification Fee required. Any person entering a protest must deposit £2, and should such protest be deemed frivolous by the Stewards, the amount will be forfeited. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that under and by virtue of Writ of Sale, dated 11th August 1886, No. 79, in the Supreme Court at Dunedin, in an action wherein JAMES MILLER and WILLIAM CAMPBELL are plaintiffs, and JAMES SCOTT is defendant. All the estate and interest of the defendant (being mortgagee of an estate in fee simple in the land hereinafter dcs« cribed) in a certain Memorandum of Mortgage, No 6032, from Thomas Stewart Black to the defendant, over allotments 26, 27, 39, 40 and 41, Village of Kirkland Hill, containing lr and 15p, such mortgage securing payment of £255, and interest thereon at £8 per cent. Title under Land Transfer Act Will be offered for sale by auction on the 4th day of SEPTEMBER 1886, at 2.30 o'clock p.m. at Watson's Hotel, High street, Dunedin, unless the said Writ shall be previously SATISFIED.
