DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKET.
J. H. Kilgour, grain and produce broker, reports, under date August 11, as follows : — Wheat. — The market continues firm at quotations of last week, viz,, 4s 6d to 4s 7d for red straw of prime milling quality, and 4s Sd to 4s 9d for white velvet and Tuscan. Fowl-feed continues scarce at 3s 10d to 4s 3d, according to condition.
Oats. — Prices remain about the same as quoted last week, but as there is, at present quotations here, no margin of profit to shippers, business is exceedingly quiet. I quote milling at 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; bright short feed, 2s 4d; ordinary feed, 2s to 2s 2d.
Barley. — I have made sales of malting at 3s Hd, but choice quality would fetch 3s 3d. Feed aud milling are wanted at 2s 3d to 2s 6d.
Chaff. — Straw chaff is in over-supply at £2 10s to £3 ; oaten sheaf, £4 10s to £4 17s'6d. Potatoes,— Business is confined to local re-
quirements. My «&fes have been at £3 15s for Southern and £4 fo? Northern. Grass Seed.— RyegrSStf, 5s to 5s 3d for clean lots off old pasture ; cocksfoot, 4gd to sd. Butter.— Salt is slow of sa.'e at 8d to 9d for pSi'nie, and Sfl to 7d for pastry, smsh. is in fair bu\7?\j at lid to Is. Eggb I.—ls1 .— ls Id is the price to-day. Turnips.— "Vs*y Blow at 20s. Carrots. — 40s.
