Sally gained First Prize at Glasgow, the Johnston and Stanraer Exhibitions, as the best marc ol the Clydesdale breed exhibited there. Young Vanquisher, by Vanquisher, by Old Sir William Wallace, by Lothian Tarn, a well-known and most sureer^tni breeding and prize-taking horse ; amongst other numerous prizes, he gained the First Prize of £ to at the Haddington Show, and in the same yeiir he gained the First Prize at the Highland Soci ty'sShow, held that year in Glasgow, as the best stalUoii of the Clydesdale breed. Old Sir William Wallace gained the Fifty-guinea Prize awarded by the Kintyro and Barrick Societies respectively, for the best dlvdesdale entire. Young Vanquisher took First Prize at Timaru for most points in Clydesdale draught entires, and his stock are second to none in New Zealand. Bkn Lomond, dam Maggie Lauder, imported by Mr George Aikenhead, is believed to be the best brood mare in the Colony. Her iirst foal, Glenlyon. by Glenesk, was sold for 175 guineas, and took First Awards at Oamaru. Timaru, and Christchurch, two years in succession. A sister of Ben Lomond, by Young Banker, was purchased by Mr Menlove, Windsor Park, at Fleming and Hedley's sale, for 185 guineas, and was reckoned the premiei fitly of that year. Maggie Ltuidcr, by Lord Lyoti, imported from Scotland; grandaire, Ben Lomond, imported from Scotland, Ben Lomond's breeding, then, is beyond doubt — his Pedigree is connected with the very bt'sf strains of the Clydesdale blood in Scotland foi generations back. Bbx Lomond was first at Blueskin, and second nt Palmerston as a year-old; second at Blueskin .wcl third at Palmerston as a two-year-old ; first sil Waikouaiti as a three-year-olj ; second at Palmer ston, second at Waikouaiti, and second nt Blnps!:i> as a four-year-old; first at Palmerston and liist nt Waikoiuvifc'i last year.
