LAND BOARD.

Wednesday's meeting of the Land Board was attended by Messrs J. P. Maitland (Chief Commissioner), Duiican, Green, and Clark. GLENKENICH. An application made by Mr Connell on behalf of John Paterson, of Tapanui, for the right to construct a water-race through block XIII, Glenkenich, was granted. BEXGER. 11l consequence of an application by the Tuapeka County Council, it was resolved to recommend the Government to reserve two acres of land adjoining section 14, block XII, Benger, as a site for a cemetery. • DUNBDIN AND EAST TAIERI. Ranger Valpy reported on the application to purchase section 78, block VI, by Humphrey Moymhau, under ""The Immigration Land Act 1873." — The conditions having been complied with, it was decided to recommend the Government to issue a Crown grant for the section. UPPER SHOTOVER. Ranger Adair reported on the applications made by a number of settlers for the right of grazing cattle on the Branches commonage, and the board desiring fuller information the matter was again referred to the ranger for report. CUATTON. An application for a lease of part of section 14, block IX, Chatton, made by Wm. Myer for the purpose of coal-mining was granted. — A seven-year license at £1 per acre was agreed to. WAIPAHI. Daniel Clarke, on behalf of a number of settlers, applied bo have the unsurveyed part of the Waipahi village reserve, north of the river, cut up into suburban blocks of a few acres each. — Referred to the acting chief surveyor to survey the land into acre allotments. DEFERRED-PAYMENT RURAL LAND. The following applications for deferred-pay-ment rural land were granted: — Alexander Teesdale, section 7, block 111, Lauder ; William Jones Mitchell, section 29, block IV, Mount Hyde. OMAKAMA. The application made on behalf of Lady Augusta Young, and granted by the board, to purchase 40 acres on Omarama run, 322 a, was amended so as to include the name of Mr G. Dalgety. UPPER TAIERI. Messrs Hamilton and Rowley requested a reduction of rent on 204 a, owing to a jjsale of 320 acres on said run.— Rent reduced by £15 14s lOd. MOUNT IDA. An application by the Mount Ida Pastoral Investment Company to purchase 320 acres on run 319 a was ajjproved of. MAUNGATUA. Allan Mann's application for a sawmill area of 10 acres in block XI, was referred to the ranger for a report.
