lteport, for the week ending Friday, August 21 : — Ihc \\ cek has been' noted for excellent weather for funniTS completing their winter sewing, and inquiries are now being made for spring sewing seed. Tho wheat, m.irkut. has hardened, and prime milling ib litlly Jd higher, while low class second quality is moving into consumption at top chick wheat prices. Oats are only in moderate demand, but prices are firm owing to the small quantities coming forward. Thero is an inquiry for seed parcels of barley, which, however, are easily executed at current figures. Seed pi-ase are in request, but the season for feed lines has passed. Ik<ui& haven demand ior dry lines lit for shipment. Derweut potatoes have risen considerably during the week on account of favourable cables from Sydney, and this market ha's been a good deal bared by large shipments to that market, the freights having been very tempting to shippers. IJye grass is moved away steadily at quoted rates. Cocksfoot has a demand, but tlio supply is tully equal to requirements. The dairy produce is exceedingly quiet. Quotations are as tollows : —
Wheat.—Prlnie milling (Hunter's and pearl), 3s ; Tuscan, 2s lOd ; becond quality, 2s 4d to 2s (sd ; chick wheat, 2s Id to 2s 2d (f.0.b.).
Oats.— Milling and short feed, Is 10d ; slightly discoloured. Is Sd ; low grades. Is tid (f.0.b.). IJarlev.— Prime malting, 3s 3d to 3s Gd; second class, 2s Od to 3s ; feed, lsild to 2s (Christchurch). Pease : Seed, 3s (5d to 3s 9d ; feed, 2s 9d to 3s. Beans : Feed, as (id (f.0.b.).
Uypgrasß. — .Machine-dressed, 4s (3d ; farmers' parcels, 2.-. Cd to 3s (3d (t.0.b.).
Cockstoot. — Bright heavy seed, 3}d ; discoloured, 2d to *Jsd (f.o.b. Lyttelton). • Potatoefe.— Derwents, 50s (at country stations). Dairy Produce.— Butter : Prime (in tubs), lid to Is ; second quality; 8d to (Id ; inferior, 4d to (id. Cheese : Loat shape, sjd to Bid ; medium, 4d to od ; large, 3gd (f .o.\).
