Sohmoozer and Rattler baulked at the sod wall, and never recovered thuir lost ground. Larry and Fairplay then held a commanding I'itd, wh'ch they kept to within half a mile ot home, when the latter fell, dislodging his jockey, and left Larry to win at his ease. Passing the 9tand the first time Awatero and Lady Harris were in front, the rest close up in a bunch. During the second round Rebecca came to the front. At the end of the first mile Maid of Honour and Awatere were out of it, and shortly afterwards Luna and Sou 1 - Wester took charge of affairu, but at the home turn Watson called on Fair Nell, who, answering gamely, passed Sou'Weater, and raced up to Luna's quarters, but could get no nearer the chestnut mare, who won cleverly by three- quarters of a length, Rou'-Wrx-f'-r, two lengths behind, third.
