Mr J. F. AVatson reports for the week ending 25th April, 188 i:— Reefton.— The weekly return of Welcome is 3390z amalgam from 90 tons stone ; of Keep-it-Dark, 304nz from 189 tons ; and of Oriental, ltfOoz from 80 torn*. The Oriental Company cleaned up arid obtained 113oz 19dwt gold from 160 tons stone crushed in tbe fortnight. Favourable reports come from Mokihinui regarding the Red Queen aud Guiding Star claims. Both companies are getting good stone, and some very rich specimen? have been obtained by the Red Queen Company. Lyell.— The United Victory had 620z 17dwt amalgam from 40 tons stone. Macetown. — Tho Tipperary Company will clean up this week. — The Premier Company have just cleaned up. Tho weight of retorttd gold from this their first crushing is 212"Z Odwfc, and the stone crushed 183 tons— a rmurn of about loz 6dwt to tho ton. The r ef is 4ffc wide, showing gold freely throughout. — Treasure Company started to crush at the Matyboro' battery the beginning of the week. They have about 60 tons ot rich stone to put through. — Tho Maryboro 1 Company are getting out stone likely to average over loz to tho ton.— Ladye Fayre Company Btruck a, reef a few days eimo.
